Thanksgiving in Vermont

We headed to Vermont on Wednesday morning to visit for Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving morning we did the " Turkey Trot" 5k at UVM and Ella ran in the kids run with her cousins.
Ate yummy food at the Fischer's house. Friday we went to the annual tree lighting in downtown Burlington and then Justin and I had dinner with Bryon and Katelyn and Matt and Amy at A Single Pebble-there was gluten free Chinese food!

Saturday we hung around Nanny and Bubba's and went downtown with just Connor( Ella stayed home to play with the girls)-nanny and I also sewed-she helped me A LOT with my pillowcase project-thanks nanny!

And Sunday we had to head back to CT. Now we are back to school and work and the craziness of the holiday season!

Ella's 5th Birthday

Hard to believe our baby girl is FIVE. She is loving being five and a " big girl!"

We celebrated her day by going into NYC ( her request) and going to American Girl. Her best friend from school Fiona came along with her parents. Ella picked out a new outfit for her Bitty Baby then we headed to Rockefeller Center where we at lunch at Tri Tip Grille( hamburgers and salads). Walked and walked and took in the sights-ended at Pinkberry for frozen yogurt then back on the train home. Kids were great!! We had a GREAT day!

Ballet and Tap

Ella loves to dance-she's back at dance school taking ballet and tap( 1st year for tap) on Saturday mornings....Ava, Olivia and Catie are in her class again. Ella counts down the days each week until ballet-so fun to see her love it so much!

Ella the Mermaid

Ella has become quite the fish ( or as she says, "mermaid") this summer. We spent a few hours at the town pool almost every day of the summer. While we started out the summer mostly in the kiddie pool, we progressed quickly to spending time in the "big" pool. A week with friends ( Noe and Hannah) who could already swim quite well gave Ella the little boost she needed to become more confident in the water. She also took 2 weeks of swim lessons which also helped her tremendously. She went from not putting her face in the water at the beginning of the summer to jumping off the diving board into 12 feet of water and swimming to the side all on her own! Way to go, Ella!

Aquarium

Last week we spent the night at Grandpa's and then met up with Ella's best friend the next day at the aquarium. Her friends cousins and her aunts came along. All the kids had a great time looking at the fish, petting sting rays and eating lunch out in the docks afterward....and had ice cream! A great day!

Both kids fell asleep on the way home(Connor loosened his car seat straps without me knowing-after I saw this I pulled over--took a picture and tightened them right up!!)

Is it August already?
This past month was jam packed... with old and new friends, swimming, bike rides, birthday parties, picnics, fireworks, train rides, and on and on...
Ella LOVES to swim now and has literally become a fish overnight in her swim class! She even jumps off the diving board!!

Perfect beach day

Spent the afternoon at the beach-kids played and played and played. Stayed until dark-Mom Leigh packed a picnic dinner( salad, shrimp, hamburgers and fruit) and we did a few sparklers before heading to Grandpa and Mom Leigh's house for a sleepover. A great summer day!
