Five and Seven

How can they be five and seven? We celebrated with a family party at auntie Heather's house, and presents with Nanny and Bubba and cake, of course on each actual birthday. Connor loves legos right now and got a huge Lego fire truck which he has been enjoying putting together....and Ella got her ears pierced! A big girl....:(
I really want time to slow down, we no longer have babies in this house. :(

Sweet boy

Connor is such a sweet, gentle soul. I want to remember the days of him tucking his baby into bed( really is Ella's baby)... I know it won't last forever.

She followed the directions from start to finish. They turned out so good!

Memorial Day Weekend at the cabin

We drove up to the cabin in pouring rain Friday night. It rained off and on Saturday, but we had a nice time walking around Middlebury on Saturday. Sunday we kayaked, fished( Ella and Connor both caught two rock bass!) and took a nice long walk. Ella paddled by herself in a kayak( I towed her) and Connor rode his bike all weekend without the training wheels! They're growing up too fast!
Bernie loved his first visit to the cabin!
Can't wait to go back in August, but first mist get through the last few weeks of school!

Dogs

We took care of our friends two labs. And while they were very sweet, it was a lot of craziness in our small house. Bernie loved his friends though and just loved playing with them. Think he was sad to see them go.

Our newest family member

We took care of this little fuzzball back in December. We all just loved him and just weeks later, the family called and asked if we want him! We did a "trial" just to make sure he is a good fit for us, and here he is staying forever now! Gulp!
He's very sweet and the kids love him.

Making the most of Winter

Daddy's been away on a couple work trips( North Carolina) so the kids and I have been trying to make the most of winter as best we can. I have to upload pictures from ice skating and sledding. We've spent lots of time doing outside activities, but there's a ton of snow right now so it's hard to walk around outside!
String all that together with days of snow days and school delays and lets just say we're ready for Spring! Whenever Justin is away, I hardly sleep so makes for a tired mom! I try to make the most of it and have fun with the kids(

Daisies

Ella has joined the Daisy scouts at her school. This year is a big group with 17 girls in her troupe! Next year will be somewhat smaller as some of the girls are 1st grade this year and will move up to Brownies.
They meet every other Tuesday and so far, Ella really enjoys it. They've earned a Daisy petal for their vest each meeting and will earn some special event badges as well.

Playing

It's been really cold here the past several days( high of 12 dome days) so there has been a lot of indoor play. Sometimes we get a little "cabin fever", but with running around to school and errands, a quiet afternoon at home isn't so bad.
